Astarte at New York Climate Week 2026: Mobilising Capital for Sustainable Development
Last week, Astarte Capital Partners was in New York during Climate Week, engaging with investors, policymakers and partners around sustainable investment, natural capital and the role of long-term institutional capital in supporting sustainable development.
As part of our presence in New York, our Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Dr. Stavros Siokos, participated in the “Investment for Development: Mobilizing Capital for Sustainable Development” roundtable at the United Arab Emirates Mission to the United Nations.
Held alongside the United Nations General Assembly, the discussion was chaired by H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, and brought together participants to discuss how capital can be mobilised towards investments that contribute to long-term sustainable development.
The conversation reflected the growing importance of connecting institutional capital with investment opportunities capable of delivering both economic value and positive environmental and social outcomes. Achieving this at scale requires not only capital, but also strong partnerships between investors, governments, asset managers and local stakeholders.
The UAE is playing an increasingly influential role in directing investment towards opportunities with lasting impact, with a strong emphasis on international partnerships and practical investment solutions. This approach resonates closely with our work at Astarte Capital Partners.
Through our investments in sustainable forestry and regenerative agriculture, we see first-hand how long-term institutional capital can support economic growth while strengthening local communities and delivering environmental benefits. Mobilising more capital towards these opportunities will be increasingly important as investors seek to combine long-term financial performance with exposure to the transition towards more sustainable and resilient economies.
