We invest in value-add real assets strategies that typically are overlooked or less understood by large asset managers, due to size or operational complexity, but at the same time are well understood by traditional industry experts. We target opportunities predominantly in the following areas:

Dr. Stavros Siokos

Managing Partner

Co-Founder of Astarte Capital Partners

25 years’ experience in building and managing businesses in various areas of Capital Markets, Asset Management and Alternative Investments

Previously he was CEO of Sciens Alternative Investments, leading the development of the firm’s strategy in the liquid alternatives and real assets space, including partnerships in aviation and shipping. During his tenure he successfully launched a series of funds attracting significant institutional capital from around the world

Prior to Sciens, he was head of Asset Management for Piraeus Group, where he co-led the Private Equity team and launched three funds

Before Piraeus, he was Managing Director at Citigroup for 13 years where he was global head of alternative executions, portfolio trading strategies and pension fund solutions

Holds an Electrical and Computer Engineering Diploma from the University of Patras, Greece, a MSc in the same field and a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the University of Massachusetts

Teresa Farmaki


Co-Founder of Astarte Capital Partners

17 years’ experience in structuring, execution and senior management across the spectrum of Private Equity investments

Previously she was Head of Private Equity for Signia Wealth, a multi-family office, where she was in charge of the investment strategy and investment selection for fund investments and co-investments

Prior to Signia, Teresa was CIO for Private Equity at Piraeus Group, where she co-led the establishment of the private equity group, launched three private equity and venture capital funds and developed the group’s strategy in the renewable energy space

Teresa joined Piraeus from UBS Investment Bank in London and New York, where she advised on corporate transactions in the real assets space in the US and Europe and was part of the team that launched the renewable energy practice of UBS globally

Holds a BSc. in Economics and Finance from the University of Athens, Greece and an MBA from Columbia University in New York

Spiros Skordos


27 years’ investment experience extending to both public and private markets. Career track record comprises various senior positions in Banking and Asset Management

Formerly was the CIO of SSK Trading a private investment company and advisor to a network of HNWI on asset allocation. Reviewed numerous investment proposals in less liquid assets and has successfully participated in direct investments in a range of ventures including in shipping, real estate, transportation and clean energy projects

Previously was  Partner and Portfolio Manager responsible for macro trading at Peloton Partners. Member of the investment team of the multi strategy fund that managed $2bn at its peak. Personal responsibility for managing a portfolio of circa $0.25bn

Prior to Peloton served for many years as Managing Director within the Fixed Income division of Citigroup and Salomon Brothers, including as co-Head of the Euro Rates Trading business and Head of the European Government Bond Desk

Holds an MBA from INSEAD and a MSc in Civil Engineering

Mark Levinson

Managing Director, Australasia

Over 35 years’ experience with broad skill base across the financial industry sectors (Fund Management, Pension Services, Trustee) and disciplines (Governance, Compliance, Audit, Risk, Investments) in the USA, UK, Asia and Australia

Previously was the General Manager and founding Partner of MST Capital, a discretionary Global Macro Fund in Sydney Australia, overseeing the business of the fund and its governance as well as investor relations

Managing Director at Goldman Sachs and Citigroup in Sydney Australia, where he was in charge of Transition Management and Pension Services teams from 1999 to 2014, including Asian coverage

Trustee of Goldman Sachs Superannuation Fund which enjoyed top fund ranking over 1, 3, and 5 years horizons over his tenure

Earlier in his career, Mark experiences include Branch manager of Prudential Securities in Singapore, desk head of derivatives in London as well as a in derivative research analyst in Chicago. Prior to that he worked on the CBOE and CME floors after staring his career with Drexel Burnham Lambert

Holds a MBA from Emory University in Atlanta Georgia and a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) as well as member of Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST)

Hall O’Donnell

Investment Manager

15 years’ experience in M&A and Private Equity having completed more than $50bn of transactions, as a sponsor and advisor, in the sectors of Telecom, Media & Technology, Energy, Financial Services and Consumer

Previously he served as a senior investment professional of a joint venture affiliate of a publicly-listed U.S. alternative asset manager, where he focused on acquiring stakes in alternative asset management firms and led the execution team of the platform with over $1 billion in available capital

Formerly he was an investment professional for a $10+ billion endowment and family office where he was responsible for advising on the hedge fund, private equity and venture capital investment portfolios

He joined from Quadrangle Group, an investment firm, where he was a private equity investment professional focusing on advisory and recapitalisations. Hall began his career in Citigroup investment bank’s M&A group in New York

Holds a BA in Political Science from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts

Michael Peraticos

Senior Associate

9 years of professional experience in financial advisory and maritime transportation

Previously he was CFO at Vantage Shipping Lines S.A., a dry bulk ship owning and operating company in Athens. His main responsibility was to identify suitable investments and lead the capital raising and asset financing processes. Key areas of involvement included the definition of the company’s strategy in the sector, negotiating with partners and creditors, raising of capital across the capital structure and coordinating due diligence

Prior to Vantage Shipping, Michael was an Associate at Investments & Finance Ltd., an advisory firm with offices in Piraeus and London and transactions in excess of $15 billion. Michael focused on real asset sectors such as shipping and mining and advised on several transactions including debt restructurings, reverse mergers and asset portfolio sales. He also advised several companies across the alternative asset space

Holds a MSc in Shipping Trade & Finance from Cass Business School, City University and BA in Geography from King’s College, University of London

Stavros Pavlidis

Managing Director, DACH

21 years professional experience with various managing positions in proprietary trading, advisory, brokerage and distribution in Switzerland, Germany and Greece

Previously was Managing Director and Head of Financial Engineering and Distribution at Leonteq AG for Internal clients in Switzerland, Cayman, Bahamas and Liechtenstein. He was part of the shareholders’ team that led Leonteq’s to its IPO in 2012

Holds a diploma degree in Industrial Engineering and Management with focus on operations research, computer science, econometrics, derivatives and financial engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)

Roger Fuchs


3+ years of financial advisory experience across the infrastructure & energy sectors and 4+ years of industry experience in the industrial and logistics sector

Previously he was an Analyst at Macquarie Capital in London, where he advised on buy side and sell side M&A, bridge financing and principal transactions across upstream oil & gas, mid/downstream resources infrastructure, energy logistics and the wider core+ infrastructure sectors

Prior to Macquarie Capital, he interned with the M&A team of PwC in Frankfurt focusing on the automotive, industrial and chemicals sectors. He also completed two internships within the Sales & Trading Group of Credit Suisse Investment Bank in Zurich

He also completed a four-year apprenticeship as technical draughtsman in the mechanical engineering team of Schindler Group and Translift Schweiz AG, specializing in the design, construction and planning of logistic systems and heavy machinery

Holds an MSc in Corporate Finance from Cass Business School in London and a BSc in Business Engineering from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland

Petros de Bree


Petros joined Astarte Capital Partners during the summer of 2016 following his bachelor degree graduation

During his studies he was a member of the student society Erasmus Centre of Entrepreneurship, where he was responsible for the external relations of his committee. In addition, he has participated in numerous Model United Nations conferences at international level

Petros holds a BSc from Erasmus University Rotterdam in Economics and Business Economics, with his major being in Financial Economics

Philippe Costeletos


25 years’ investment experience spans several investment cycles, investment types (growth capital, minority investments and buyouts) and geographies (including emerging markets)

Previously he was Chairman International for Colony Capital as well as with TPG Capital where he was Head of TPG Capital in Europe and served as a member of TPG’s Management and Investment Committees. He led the development of the firm’s investment strategy, staffing, sourcing and networking initiatives and personally sourced some of the firm’s most successful investments in Europe

Prior to joining TPG, Philippe was a member of the Management Committee at Investcorp. He joined Investcorp from JP Morgan Capital where he was involved in private equity investments for the firm’s own account across Europe and Latin America. Previously, he worked with Morgan Stanley in London and New York

Holds a BA in Mathematics from Yale University and received an MBA from Columbia University

Andrew Wynn, CFA


25 years’ investment experience in the public and private markets (venture capital, alternative investments)

Director of Baywynn Ltd, an investment advisory business providing asset allocation and investment management services to a family office

He was formerly the Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager of Blackheath Capital Ltd; an investment partnership focusing on US equities

Prior to building Blackheath Capital, he was the Head of Small Cap Equities for Samba Capital Management (Saudi American Bank) in London where he managed a series of offshore mutual funds as well as segregated portfolios for institutions

Before joining Samba, Mr. Wynn worked as an investment analyst in the North American Equity Department of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) in the UAE. He started his investment career at the Chase Manhattan Bank

Mr. Wynn graduated Magna Cum Laude from Middlebury College where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and member of the CFA Institute as well as the CFA Society of the UK
